Sori in vegetative tissues of host plants belonging to the Restionaceae. Sori filled with spore balls, bursting at maturity.

Spore balls composed only of spores that are differentiated within a sporogenous mass of hyphae. Peridium, columella and sterile cells lacking.

Spores brown.

Spore germination resulting in septate basidia on which basidiospores and/or hyphae are produced on sterigmata.

Host-parasite interaction by intracellular hyphae, coated by an electron-opaque matrix.

Septa poreless at maturity.

Parasitic hyphae inter- and intracellular.


This monotypic genus is known from Lyginia (Lyginiaceae) in Western Australia.
